Trying to lose baby weight for the last year!

Hi, I am a stay at home mom of 5 kids and have been trying for a year to lose the baby weight from my last baby. I'm having a hard time, it won't budge. I haven't been perfect but have made so many permanent changes and have been working out at least 3 days a week. I am upping the workouts to 5 days and going to just try my hardest to stay within my range of calories. I have done weight watchers but don't like the new plan so figured I would just try the simple count calories method. I am starving today because I was on vacation at Disneyland for 10 days and ate whatever I wanted. It's hard to go from tons of calories to like 1200! I think I was eating that in one burrito!

I am a SAHM of 6, also trying to lose the baby weight. We can do it!! I am finding that having a fitness goal - a race or some other goal to work for instead of just focusing on weight loss has helped. I am doing a a half marathon in April, ready for it to be over so that I can change my work out up a bit. I like some of the biggest loser DVD's, and other Jillian Michaels DVD's. Good luck!!! Add me as a friend if you want, I can use all of the support I can get.0

I too am trying to lose the baby weight. I did Weight Watchers from January to March and lost, but then hit a plateau. My husband found this site and we love it! In just a week I lost 4 pounds. It is the worst going from eating whatever you like to counting calories, but after a couple of tough days you will get in the groove. The added plus is that when you workout you get calories back.............I am working out 5 days a week just walking and it is doing wonders. Not sure about you but at 41 years old, you can't loose if you don't move. Good luck. Check out some of the recipes on here too, they are great. I just made angel food pineapple cupcakes at 69 cal a pop - soo good. And the slow cooker chicken salsa takes like a chimichanga - fabulous.0

5 kids? OMGosh thats awesome! My suggestion - give it at least a month before getting discouraged! My Dr. told me that when you've been a certain weight for a long time your body gets comfortable and d oesn't want to let go right away. Which is why our bodies go into starvation mode when we suddenly stop eating 2000 calories a day! It takes a period of adjustment! You can totally do it! And you may be able to do some fun exercises with the kids! I don't have any but lots of people here do, and they may have some ideas of things a busy mom can do!0

It helps, especially at first, to have a smaller calorie deficit so that your body can adjust more easily to eating less. Try setting your desired weight loss to a smaller amount so that you can eat more. With 5 kids you don't need more stress!0

Oh how I HEAR YOU!!!
How are you sleeping? My doctor told me (as I was concerned with my lack of weight loss and ready to throw my scale out the WINDOW) - that when your body is lacking sleep and if you're carrying around stress (what mom isn't stressed out???) then your body is more prone to hold on to weight, making weight loss painfully slow.
I've been struggling with weight loss for about a year and a half - it just stopped...since having my son I've trained and completed 3 long distance races, worked out 4-5 times/week and have been diligent with my eating - I joined MFP in December and have only lost 4 lbs, but recently I've been noticing more of a change in my body (lost 2 inches from the waist!!! YES!!!) and I'm confidant that if I stick with my plan and worry more about my health than about the lbs, it'll all come off
Keep your chin up - add me as a friend!!!0
