Dizzy....

Ok, today I did 35 minutes of Tae Bo (burnt 270 cals woo hoo!) but got dizzy after I stopped.
This has never happened to me before. As most of you know, after I got my nose pierced 2 weeks ago, I past out and hit my head really hard. I was out cold for a minute or 2. I have been getting dizzy spells ever since... well, I've always gotten those spells but not as much.

I don't have health insurance yet so I cannot afford to go to the docs and get checked out.
Don't know if the head injury is the cause of it though. I have been eating so that's not the problem.

Holy smokes, Jo. You may, very well, have a concussion. I usually get lightheaded too when my blood sugar is low or if I haven't had anything to drink in awhile.

Check your symptoms out on WebMD and see what it says.

    Joanna-
Sometimes that happens to me after I work out, but because of the head injury it should be taken seriously. I would call a nurse and let them know your situation, at least they can ask you some specific questions to see if there is need for concern.

    I agree with jlauren....
You may have totally thrown off your equilibrium with the fall and it's aggrivated by work outs that could have a lot of rapid movements.

I have had similar dizzy spells in the past. My doctor thought it was because I was dehydrated and the problem has since resolved itself. But I know that my doctor also explored blood pressure issues with me. Dizzy spells are common if you have low BP. Do you know anyone in nursing or anything that you could maybe talk to about this? If it is something serious you need a doctor, insurance or not... good luck! :flowerforyou:

Joanna, please go get it checked out, even if it is at a walk-in clinic. That worries me!

    Hi guys,

I took an hour nap and it helped. If I don't get any better by the end of the week, I will go get myself checked out.

    Thanks for your concerns :ohwell:

I hope that you get this checked out, even if you are feeling better. I was have dizzy spells kind of like this and when I final went to the doctor, months later. I was told that I am hyproglycemic(not sure of spelling). My doctor said it is so bad that if I don't get it under control I will be Diabetic within a year. She also stated that if I would have went in sooner it may not have gotten so bad. My blood sugar was spiking and falling so fast that my body couldn't keep up.

Please go get it checked out. You need to know what the cause is.

    Please keep us updated.

Oh man! I didn't even know you passed out! Did it happen while I was gone???

Now I'm worried! You should try to get it checked out in some way. I know people who got concussions by standing up too fast and knocking their head on a shelf above them! So if they can do it doing THAT, then you may very well have as well!!

You take care of yourself JO!!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

  • My son would have frequent episodes of passing out, we used to refer to him as our "fainting goat" (google this and see the hilarious videos), but in all seriousness you need to have this checked out. We finally discovered that he had an irregular heartbeat that would for no apparent reason speed up and the slow down causing him to pass out. Passing out for no reason is not an issue to take lightly, he had one episode while he was driving and fortunately somehow managed to get his car over to the side of the road where he was found by passerbys who thought he was a drunk driver. If not for your own self then for your girls sake see a doctor. Hope you are feeling better, but even if you are you should still have this evaluated as there could be an underlying medical condition that needs attention. Better safe than sorry.

Hi, Joanna, it is nice to see someone familiar now that I have come back. And since I would like you to be fully functional now that I am back, please do get things checked out. Do you have any ear pain? Sometimes ear infections cause a loss of balance (although if it happened after you got your piercing it is probably not that, but just a thought...).

OMG i missed this one too lady!

i knew that you had passed out but i didn't know that you hit your head! Oh my!!

I hope its not a concussion. i definitely know what its like to have no insurance...soo if this happens again with exercise..ya know..just go if you think you need to!!!

    Wow
You also could be getting dizzy because your heart is not pumping enough blood to you head while your exercising. Get insurance ASAP and get to the doctor...you don't want to find out to late that you have heart issues.
