Ok so I used to run all the time. Now I'm basically starting over. My jogging today was only for about 10 mins. If I run 6 days a week and built up my time, how long should it take to run 5Ks again?

I'm in a similar boat. I'm using C25K to get back into running. Here's a link to the program: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

Maybe you could jump into it on whatever week you are running ten minutes at a time?

Runner's World has a beginner's 5K program as well, so look at that one too.

I wouldn't run 6 days a week if you haven't been running in years. Too much risk of overuse injuries like shin splints and stress fractures for me to be comfy taking. I'd run every other day (that's what I'm doing right now with C25K).

    Good luck!

Halhigdon.com is a good site for a program. Good luck.

Lots of good training plans out there. My caution would be to go slow. As a former runner, (and I was too), you can definitely push too hard as you try to get back up to your former levels of speed and endurance. This over-extension can lead to injury. I would find a plan and stick with it even if it feels like it is moving too slowly just to get you back into the swing of things.

    Good Luck!!!

You should be able to get a good base on 4 days a week running. Work in some cross training the other days to help prevent injury. C25k is a great plan if you are looking for a start. Otherwise rule of thumb is not to increase your mileage more than 10% a week. Just listen to your body. DO what you feel comfortable with but don't push yourself into an injury!
