surgery and weight loss?

Options
So last year I implemented dramatic changes for my health. New eating regimine and exercising. The result a very slow weight loss 1 or 1 1/2 lbs a month only. This year I had emergency back surgery. And since, I have started losing weight like a normal person.

Last year - 10 months - 14lbs
This year - 2 months - 10 lbs (no exercise)

Any thoughts? Has anyone heard of this happening to anyone?
:-)

It could be that your body is using more calories while trying to heal from surgery. Not sure.... maybe ask your doctor?

Is your body composition the same? Do you feel as toned as you were prior to surgery? Surgeries are major body traumas and your body will take the path of least resistance to heal, which often means significant muscle loss.
