Hi all.
I wanted to know if anyone else does this.
Start off great lose a few pounds then goes off track and finds it harder to get back into it?
I lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks,then stopped tracking.
Weighed myself today and lucky i am still 10 lbs down.
Why do i do it?I have another 53 pounds to go and the sad part is i feel so much better when im tracking.
Any tips?
Anyway putting this out there so i am officially back in the game and no pit stops until i am there.
First zumba class thursday. Eek!

I have bad days (too many lately) but get on here daily to log in...keeps me motivated.
I tried Zumba...great exercise but I am just not good at following the moves...felt stupid in the class so I stick to the machines at the gym and like to walk.
You'll do just fine.0 -
I do this constantly. Mostly beacuse when I'm dieting I tend to get into eating habits with the types of foods I'm eating- like I'll plan this low cal dinner and have it a few nights in a row. Saves money... or I'll buy fruits and veggies and have to eat the same ones for a few days. It's hard shopping for one person when you're on a diet! Mid last week actually I stopped being as harsh on my eating and now this week have started up again. I've decided though to not step on the scale more than once every other week- It's too easy to get obsessed with it. I want to focus on how I feel and how my clothes feel. I'll get back into the healthy thing again... Starving today though!!!0

Possibly alot of it has to do with mental attitude. I know when I think of what I am doing as a "diet", I fall off the wagon *much* easier. When I think of it more as a permanent lifestyle change, and focus on the good stuff coming from what I've done so far (i.e. - clothes more comfortable, clear skin, more energy, sleeping better, etc.), my willpower lasts a great deal longer.0

That's what I'm shooting for!! It's a hard change for me. Was taught bad eating habits growing up ) The HARDEST change is wanting sweets after meals.0 -
Yes, I agree. I was not raised with the best eating habits, either. But there are some things that help me get around my issues - at least most of the time. Here are some of them, if they might help -
Re Sweets:
* Sugar free Jello has become my friend!
* Sometimes a teaspoon of peanut butter can take the edge off my sweet tooth.
* Have you ever eaten frozen berries? My husband actually loves these. They are sweet, seem like dessert when you are eating them, you have to chew them more so you eat slower, and berries contain antioxidents and fiber.
* Also, a little piece of dark chocolate can go a long way.
Re Soda: I drink water or unsweetened iced tea almost all the time now. But the water is either flavored fizzy water, or I have some lemon or lime juice added.
Re Bread & Pasta: Not everyone has issues with this one, but I am a carb addict! The more I have, the more I crave. So I actually try to limit that kind of stuff to once a week.
Re Cheating: For me, I had to decide how to make it so there is no such thing. I give myself one day a week (usually Saturdays) to eat anything I want, guilt-free, no matter how "bad". During the week I actually keep a list of my cravings and tell myself "I'll have that on Saturday." By the time the day comes around, I don't want everything as much, my portions of the bad stuff are smaller, and I don't feel deprived the rest of the time. It's gotten so that sometimes my cheat day actually has gotten whittled down to a cheat meal - but that's ok, because it's stuff I really, really wanted. And it keeps me from getting majorly derailed.0 -
Glad i am not the only one
Frozen berries sound good, will have to give it a try. I am a carb addict too.
Giving up soda has not been as bad as i thought.
I agree it is all in the head. When everything is going good my eating is good when something is crap i ring dominos :laugh:0
