After a recent visit to my doctor and a multitude of tests, he determined I have reflux and wants me to completely go off coffee and other caffeine products, alcohol and to eat a bland diet which means no acidic foods like citrus or tomatoes and no spicy food...I am wondering if anyone else has suffered from this and can offer recipe suggestions, natural remedies etc.

I am only 42 but I weigh 195 pounds and I am struggling to reduce my weight too....maybe such a bland diet will help me......

Karen.

    Hi Karen,
Sorry to hear the news about the reflux.. That stinks...I don't know if I could go a day without coffee!! My daughter was born with acid reflux and sometimes has problems with it.. some of the foods that help her a little are applesauce, sorbet, yogurt, and bland things like saltines, pretzels, and fruit. I know things like salsa and tomato sauce tend to bother her. Good luck with everything! Take care,

 Reflux...nasty. I hate it. This may sound strange. I had diverticulitis (spelling) and was on the B.R.A.T. diet for 3 days and presto! B-Bananas R-Rice A-Applesauce T-Toast. I'm not saying to eat as a life style food change, but if a flare-up hits try it out. :flowerforyou: Good health to you.

I am wondering if fatty foods are an issue as well....last night I made sausages and a potato bake and this morning I am suffering...most of the night too....

Maybe having simple things like B.R.A.T. would not be so bad......
