My husband makes this awesome, rich, homemade carrot cake with coconut/pecan cream cheese frosting. in the good ol' days, i could easily eat 2 big honking pieces in one sitting. i just put the ingredients into the calorie count recipe-o-meter and oh, snap! 774 CALORIES a slice!!!

btw... if you've never used the recipe analyzer on calorie count, you should check it out. sweet little app that takes a list of ingredients and calculates the nutritional info. here's the link: http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php

Yikes...a little indulgence that can be worked off later! Don't fret!

You know you can enter that recipe online here so you can log it directly into your food diary? I'm guessing you don't plan on eating any of it again so it's not really important but just wanted to point out that feature if you didn't already know it was there!

i didn't eat any of it this time -- went on a walk instead. :)

yes, i know about the recipe calculator on this site, but the calorie count version lets you copy and paste a recipe in without searching for items individually.

I did that with a homemede clam chowder, I knew it was bad but didnt realize how bad till I entered all the ingrediants. 800 calories and 57 grams of fat for a 1 cup serving. Yes I already had the 1 cup serving. :blushing: Man it was good. Bits of bacon and a whole carton of whipping cream. ho hum... no more for a while at least.

I'm afraid to ask for that carrot cake recipe, sounds delicious and I love carrot cake.
