So I found a site where I can vent on a daily basis on my struggles with weight loss. Thank God!
Hi Everyone, I'm Lauren.
I weigh, as of this evening, 404 pounds...holy crap!
I bought a scale last year that weighed up to 400 and wasn't able to even weigh myself. The scale has been in my closet, buried, until today. I've been doing water aerobics at a local YMCA 5 days a week for 2 weeks now and i plan to continue. I thought what the hell lemme see if I'm making any sort of progress. Well, I'm shocked, the scale weighed me lol. I didn't see a big E. Now that is motivation! I need to be under 400 as my first initial goal. My next goal is 350 and so on and so on.....
I've been big my whole life and up until last year I thought I'd be BIG MY WHOLE LIFE. No no no! I'm 25 years old and can't have children. That is completely unacceptable to me. I've wanted more than anything to be a mommy and there is no healthy way to be one at 404 pounds.
I'm on a mission...not only for me but for my future child that I will have one way or another. Even if I can't conceive one, I'd like to be healthy enough to adopt one. Pcos is not fun but I deal.
A few other goals are to fit on a ride at six flags, book a flight without be worried they might kick me off, to wear shorts comfortably, (TMI) to have sex standing up , and many many more.....
I'm happily married to the most wonderful man i could have ever met. He has accepted me at my worst and I can't wait to show him my best.
I look foreward to talking with all of you and reading your struggles and success stories. Thanks for reading. Hopefully talk to ya soon

Welcome aboard...it is certainly helping me to stay motivated and that is no easy chore. I am not sure what PCO's stands for but I do know what it is like to be overweight and I have about 60 lbs to go to reach my final goal...I find setting monthly/weekly goals is helping me and honestly drink drink drink...cause that is the answer to not feeling hungry all the time. Good luck on your journey we are here if you need to vent.0

I am so there. I started at 350. I am at 335 now. It's such a struggle. This webite is a totally blessing. I am learning how to watch what I eat and it's great that it calculates exercise and everything. I just made a goal by doing 15 minutes on the elliptical. My goal is to be at 30 minutes by May 1st.0

You've taken the first step to success! I can't wait to see your succeed, girl.0

You guys are awesome. Thank you for your praise and motivation.
Pcos basically means I don't ovulate like i should...hard to have babies.0 -
You CAN do this! Find activities that you can enjoy and can do consistently, focus on good nutrition and portion control, and don't let anything get between you and where you want to be. I was in the obese category for years and used to think I was doomed to be there forever. But once I finally started losing I got excited about it and kept going and going. You will feel SO much better with each goal you make. Don't ever doubt it: it's worth it!0

Hi and welcome!
I just posted a topic a little while ago on here how I couldn't find the motivation to work out or treat myself better by eating healthier foods. I read your post, and I was so inspired by your desire to get healthy.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and I know you will reach your goals!

First of all WELCOME!!!! I am glad your here and secondly take it from a 37 year old first time mom who at her biggest was 290 and been big ALL MY LIFE, do it NOW! Do not wait because its so much harder to change your habits when your my age. I never thought I would conceive either... My docs said the chance was slim but last year I got pregnant. I was floored. I was excited but worried. The pregnancy was difficult. Because of my weight I was pre-clamptic and spent the majority of my pregnancy in a hospital bed. My son was born 6 weeks early by emergency c-section because my bp spikd to stroke level. My beautiful boy was born with spina bifida, hypospadius and breathing issues. A month later to the day my father died of cancer related illnesses that could possibly have been avoided if he had taken care of himself. He was also overwieght most of his life.He had high bp, diabetes and had sleep apnia, he had quad bypass surgery as well. He was only 60 years old when he passed. He never got to meet my son. Since then my son has had an 8 hour spinal surgery to correct his spina bifida and we as a family spent a week living in UCSF while he recovered from that surgery. He has another surgery coming up for the hypo-spadius and an appointment with Oakland Children's Hospital re: his breathing issues. he is doing fine for now but I tell you all this because had I taken better care of myself and dealt with my weight when I was your age I might have been healthier for pregnancy etc. I am now losing weight because I do not want to die young and leave my son without his mommy. I would love to have you as a friend on here. I will support and motivate you and in turn hope you do the same for me! Good luck! Your gonna rock!0

Good for you! I am new on here as well. I've been eating more healthily and insisting on being consistent with exercise since the beginning of the year, and I have seen great results. I have to remind myself that, though I have weight goals and fitness goals, the single most important goal is TODAY'S GOAL, whatever that may be (I keep it simple and have the same nutrition and exercise goals each weekday). I trust that meeting today's goal (or even coming close) will eventually lead me to my desired outcomes, and takes a little bit of the pressure off of thinking about how far I still have to go.
Best wishes on your journey!0 -
Hello Lauren!! Welcome to the site. You have such a great attitude and outlook on what you want for yourself. That is totally awesome! Add me as a friend, we can motivate and support each other :flowerforyou:0

Awwww im glad to see you here. All i know is i was watching the morning show and someone came out skinny and they showed us her pic before and after. First thing out of her mouth was she joined my fitness pal. Her name is Tammy and she motivated me because i only had 30 or 35 to lose and i think she had lost over a hundred and fifty. This site really opened my eyes about food and i know i will never be over weight again from the knowledge i have gained. I know you will see what i mean soon. CONGRATS!:flowerforyou:0
