What is a naked salad etc?

I keep seeing the word naked in the food categories. I had a grilled chicken salad today and it had lettuce tomatoes and chicken. I used Salsa as my dressing. Would that be considered a naked chicken salad? does it mean no dressing or what? im confused please help

    No dressing is probably what they are saying. Just add your salsa separately.
