Quadracep injury

So I just got back from South Padre Island last Wednesday from partying like an animal and dancing like one too. Apparently the "only losing weight by dieting and putting exercise into the mix later on" concept made this TORTURE for my body. I'm pretty sure I pulled my left quad because it hurts like h e double hockey sticks and to top it the right one is starting to hurt almost as bad due to compensating for the left. I gained about 8 pounds *surely mostly water weight...right?* on the trip and I was planning on coming back and starting a crazy workout routine to get back down to normal and start getting really serious about this last 20 pounds before I graduate in May. Problem is neither one of my legs are feeling ANY better- they actually get worse every day. I still haven't worked out since I've been back and I'm really itching to do so because I feel like a fatty mcfatterson. I started back on the "diet" wagon yesterday and plan on sticking to it from here on out but it really sucks not being able to exercise. Just wanted to vent a little I guess and if anyone has gone through something similar or has any advice it's welcomed. Thanks.

Any time I have any type of sore muscle my husband tells me two things: stretch and water. The pain never lasts too long, so he must be on to something. (I'll never let him know that, though!) :)
