I have a hard time mentally giving up exercise for a rest day......I KNOW I should. But my thoughts are....I know there are going to be scheduling issues that won't allow me to exercise so I feel like I should exercise when I can.
Do y'all have regularly scheduled day off from exercise? How often?
Thanks!

I haven't been brave enough to take a day off from exercising! I just don't want to mess with a good thing, so, I'm going to just keep on with my walking and dancing every day if at all possible!0

I always take off Sundays and usually Wednesdays or Thursdays as well--if I do anything on Wednesdays or Thursdays when I take off one of those days, I'll go to the gym but I don't ride on those days. And, on those days, I strictly maintain to my calorie limit.0

I take Wednesdays and either a Saturday or a Sunday.:glasses:
I definitely find it difficult (damn near impossible) to stay within my calorie limit on those days!! (little success, I managed to do it yesterday - first time ever I think!!!) :drinker:0 -
My trainer says I need to take 1 full day off a week, though at times it's hard to do, but I make myself. I've been doing good so far following her advice.
I usually take Fridays off, though this week it will be Sunday.0 -
I take off every Saturday and Sunday from scheduled exercise.0

I take off sunday. All exercise gurus say that the body needs a day off. That being said a walk is not out of the question, just intense exercise0

i have a hard time with this too....
i listen to my body - if i am just super lethargic and dragging all day long, there is no way i am going to work out. i usually work out in the morning though, so if i start to and i'm not feeling it.. i'll walk instead of run, cut my time on the elliptical short... those types of things.
also, on my "rest" days, i either waitress a 9 hour shift or go for a leisurely hour walk or something. i cannot stand to not be active at all throughout the day!!!
but rule of thumb: listen to your body. if you can handle it, go for the work out. if your body is telling you to stop; you better listen or you'll burn out real quickly.0 -
usually tuesday thursdays and sometimes the weekend but I try to walk around as much as possible on those days.0
