Calorie burn when carrying a 15lb weight

How is this worked out compared to normal walking?
I ask because i regularly carry my son out and about, but he weighs 24lbs so significantly more than the 15lb weight that mfp works out for you!

    there are calorie calculators for walking ( and running ) to give you an example

    150 lbs - walking 3 - 4 mph - 1 mile - 80 cals
    170 lbs - all else the same - 90 cals

    Just calculate the same activity as though you weigh 15lbs extra.
  • How do you guys calculate the speed of you walking/running? Any decent pedometer or something you can get in the UK?

    i count a small child as the 15lbs & figure i'm probably burning more than that, but enter it that way anyway because i don't have a HRM to find out specifically & i'd rather error with it saying i burnt less than i really did than over :o)
