I have relized that the very few friends that I do have on here, some haven't logged in for days now. I am looking to lose this weight and do not exactly have the motivation at home. SO any friends would be nice. I have 164 pounds to go on my journey and at least want to be walf way there come my birthday. I have all the motivation in the world when I look at my son and relize if I keep on this path that I am on that I will not make it to see him grow up, and since I am all he has that I needed to do something. I have changed my eating habbits but still get to have that snack but that has changed to something healthy. Since I have had my gallbladder removed I have issues with eating anything that is high in fat and beleive me that is motivation enough to not want to eat that slice of greasy fatty pizza. I have looked in the mirror and seen that I am un happy with all the rolls on my back and stomache, it sickens me to no end. I have found that I possibly have medical condition that hasn't been ever so nice in slowing down my matabolism. I have a huge history of thyriod issues on both sides of my family, and when I was prego my OBGYN thought that was possibly the cause of it, but naturally since your prego a lot of things are off balance in your body. But luck would have my insurance ran out after I had my gallbladder taken out, which at the time was more important then testing for a thyroid issue. Well I found this site from a friend of mine and decided to give it a try and it is really easy to see what your eating as far as breaking it down to how much you work out.. Well working out I drag my butt on my bike and go about 4-8 miles a day on that thing, its stationary of course. But I would like to have friends on here, because I know then that having someone else going through this with me would be awesome. My goal for the summer of 2012 is to be able to wear a two piece and not have fat rolls. Im 24 and shouldn't look this way its pathetic really. But Anyone around my age going through this would be great, but I will accept anyone who is serious about losing weight.
Thanks..
Thanks..

Hello I am older than you, but I am serious about losing weight too. When I joined I was 237, but now I am down to 231. I would really love to be down to under 200 when I turn 40 at the end of may. I know that may not happen, but it would be nice. Feel free to friend me if you want and good luck on your weight loss.0

Losing that much weight so soon is a big goal. I am 304 pounds, and i need to lose around 140 or something like that, but know that there is no way I would loose all that by a year away. If I really try and managed to loose the 2pounds a week that im suppose to loose, in one year i could loose 96pounds, but its only week 3 for me and ive already hit a plateu and i havent lost in nearly a week. Im staying positive and hoping for the best, but im not giving myself some certain day to loose the weight by. Im living day by day and keeping under my calories and eating as healthy as i can while still living my life. If you truely do have this medical condition, it may be harder for you to lose weight, and you need to allow yourself more time. Im not saying you cant meet your goal, im just saying that look at your goal and ask yourself is it realistic? To loose your goal (165pounds) youd have to loose 3 and a half pounds every single week for the next year and never have a week where you dont loose. I just worry that maybe your goal is a bit high, and i dont want to see you disappointed in a year from now ;-(
On that note, kick it into high gear! Since you have a metabolism problem::To boost your metabolism: drink ice cold water, the colder the better. Lemon in your water is also a metabolism booster.
Spicy food is also metabolism boosting. I add pepper, red pepper flakes, fresh garlic, and onion to almost everything i cook.
Drink as much water as you can stand (take your weight, divide it by 15). The number that equals is the number of cups a day.
Get a waterbottle you can bring with you. I have a 24oz waterbottle that i can twist the top and squirt into my mouth. I carry the waterbottle in the car, next to my bed, around the kitchen, everywhere. I dont allow myself to eat sometimes unless ive had one full waterbottle (3cups). My number is 20 and i usually can manage to get to about 15, but somedays i have good days where i can get to my number.
Dont drink pop, especially diet. The extra chemicals help you gain weight (diet is worse for you than regular).
Drink green tea, it boosts your metabolism, and your still getting some water. it also has antioxidants.0 -
Well incase you are not aware of not having a gallbladder does, then you do not know that I can not eat spicy food anymore, or anything high in fat content. Anything like that then you will be rushing to the bathroom and it isn't a nice thing.
Yes my goal is very attainable, I am also working with a dietatcian and a trainer on the weekends, I have lost 11 pounds since my last weigh in. They are keeping in mine of any medical conditions that I might have.
So i have an excelent excersise program and food program as well, I have had been on a diet before and have lost 45 pounds but after being prego with my son I had gained weight, and before then a lot of stress and other problems I had turned to food.
I understand where you are coming from in saying what you are but at the same time that isn't much of motivation, that is just the same things that I get at home and then what happens in most cases with hearing that for so long you start to believe in it and then just give up.
I am simply saying that by my 25 birthday I know I do not expect to lose a 164 pounds by then, that is just crazy and not safe. I am simply saying that Id rather not be still at 300 pounds by my 25 birthday, hell Id be happy with being 45 pounds smaller by then.. but by saying in over a year and some odd months that it isn't possible to more then if not at your goal isn't possible well it can be. Its called you do not allow yourself to give up hope and you keep at it. Im not looking at the numbers in pounds but rather in how I see myself and how I fit in clothers, yes there will be a time when you stop losing weight but that is why I am seeing a dietitian and my friend who is now a trainer and went from 345 pounds to what he weighs now which is 175 pounds and abs for days. So from one former fatty to a current one, I know that I can do this. While like i said I see where you are coming from but I know that this is possible. and Like i said I know I do not expect to be at my goal weight by my birthday because that isn't healthy. and as far as having a medical condition untill I actually am able to see a doctor and have medical insuracne I am going off of blind faith that I do not but keeping in mind in case that I do..0 -
i didnt know that about the galbladder. my mom had hers removed before i was born and eats spicy foods, and goes to mcdonalds and stuff on occasion. Shes never said anything about it before. hrm.
i must have misunerstood you then about everything else, cuz to me it sounded like you said you planned to loose your goal by next year in order to be ready for bikini season. i didnt mean to put any negative thoughts in your head, i was just making sure you were staying healthy. ;-)0
