A practical tip for World Salt Awareness Week: in general, a food with more mg sodium than calories per serving is 'salty'

my favourite pet peeve... WAY too much salt in restaurant meals.

i don't go out to eat anywhere NEAR as oftern as i used to, and trust me that is a definite loss of income for local restauranteurs... all because even their 'healthy' and 'low cal' meal are WAY to high in sodium!

That is interesting, but it seems every food has more sodium than calories.

Many processed foods probably do... but low fat meats, fruits, veggies are all good nutrition sources without much sodium (celery being an exception). Rice and dried beans are also very low in sodium. :)
