For anyone who finds it difficult to drink their H2O try distilled water. I've been up on it for a few years now, but if for some reason I run out, I just loath drinking spring or even most filtered waters. They have a funny taste & not as refreshing.

I have an RO/DI unit connected to my kitchen sink that I originally bought to make water for my reef fish tank, but I also have the drinking water add-on...
It tastes great and in the long run is a ton cheaper than buying bottled water.
But I agree that distilled is more refreshing and tastes better, and that's part of the process in my filter.0 -
What's the deal with distilled water, I mean, what is it actually?? Dumb question I'm sure not on the shelves they have distilled water and then drining water....0

Wikipedia: "Distilled water is water that has many of its impurities removed through distillation. Distillation involves boiling the water and then condensing the steam into a clean container."
Basically steam distillation is boiling the water until it turns to steam then collecting the condensation for a more pure water.0 -

Wow so that filter has some form of distillation? or it has a refresher of some sort? Is it expensive. I would love to eventually find a more economical way. At my job they have a water machine that has a regular filter as well as some sort of UV filter, but I don't like the taste of the cold water from it either. The hot water for tea is fine thou0 -
Do a Google search for "RO/DI units" and you will see what I mean. I have a 6 stage filtering unit that connects under my sink and literally does the processes of reverse osmosis AND distillation before the water leaves the last stage of filtration. I bought my unit for around $200, and I change the filters in it once a year which normally costs me $25 including shipping and taxes since I don't have a local store that sells them.
They have RO units on Lowe's that are horribly expensive and do NOT do what these filters do. They are typically found on websites for saltwater fish tanks. I bought one off ebay about 6 years ago for the house I just moved out of for $125 and it was a 5 stage RO/DI unit with a 5 gallon storage tank. Best tasting water I had while living in that house, concidering all the crap they put in the tap water to "clean" it.0
