Okayyy so i know this has been asked im sure 12 hundred million times, but my net cals for a day, even with exercise, is supposed to be 1200 before i got into "starvation mode" blah blah blah or are we talking just calorie calories.
Do not post links and forums and use all that jargon with me. Don't yell at me about the "starvation mode" thing i've read all that stuff (actually don't yell at me at all ) I just want a straight up answer.
k thanks & sorry for sounding so harsh

Talking exercise calories is pretty much talking net.
The number on the home page, where it says net calories, try to get that number TO or ABOVE 1200 every day. If you exercise, or not. Aim for that.0 -
I'm not sure what you are asking, but have you noticed on the main page, towards the top is a ticker that has your daily summary? It shows your daily goal, what you have consumed, what you have burned, and what your net equals. It's an easy way to tell if you are above 1200 net calories.0

it's generally 1200 before you add the exercise calories to it. if you go lower you should speak to your doctor. as is you should speak to your doctor to make sure you are getting the correct nutrients that is right for your body.0

What is your question?
If you're asking whether you're supposed to eat back any calories you burn with exercise, yes, you are. "Net calories" means calories eaten minus calories burned. MFP sets it up so that you can lose weight without exercising, so if you exercise, you should eat those calories back.
If you choose not to, and there are a lot of people around here who go that route, you may or may not go into "starvation mode" and stall your weight loss. It all depends on the person, and how accurate you are in your logging of food and exercise.0 -
my issue is that i "eat" 1200 calories but after i excercise my net for the day is like between 600 - 1000.
and thank you for the answers0 -
