cottage cheese pancakes! so delicious and full of protein. i don't like the texture of cottage cheese so i put the cottage cheese in the blender before mixing it into my batter. just search through the posts on here for "cottage cheese pancakes" and you'll find plenty of low calorie recipes0

I like it plain or with a little fresh ground pepper0

I personally love it plain! But I can only eat a few bites like that.
I mix it with sugarless applesauce, or peaches, and sometimes I just experiment, like I will add a pinch of cinnamon or just squeeze orange juice into it. Or I put it on grain/wheat/low carb crackers or toast, yum!
Most of the time though, I just eat it plain and can ONLY eat nonfat cottage cheese.... regular is so disgusting!0 -
Since no one's mentioned it, mixed with oatmeal.0

Hi everyone.
I just bought some light cottage cheese. I have only had it once a couple of years ago with some honeydew melon-which was delicious. Just wondering what some other cottage cheese favourites are?
Way back before I was vegan, I loved me some cottage cheese! My fave way to eat it was with ketchup mixed in. Sounds weird maybe, but I picked it up from my grandad and it tastes yummmmmmmy!0 -
cinnamon, a packet of truvia or splenda, and some chopped walnuts. tastes like a cinnamon roll.0

As the Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie I posted up here with a photo about a week ago. Sooooo yummy, a perfect way to get your protein w/o having to taste the nasty curdy stuff. I'm a cheese-hater0

my usual suspects are blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, peaches, pears, etc but i recently bought a bag of frozen dark sweet cherries (i believe its Dole brand) and i let a portion of those defrost and topped my cottage cheese with them. Very yummy and i am not a huge cherry fan (though starting to like them more!).
my husband grew up overseas and they would spread cottage cheese on a verrrrry thin pita bread and drizzle with honey and roll up for breakfast. Sounds like a lot of carbs to me, LOL, but its an idea Maybe toast up some pita chips and scoop up your cottage cheese with "an edible spoon" ?0 -
Pineapple or strawberry yummmmmmmmmm0

Last summer my Grandma came to visit and she made this "stuff" tub of cottage cheese, tub of cool whip, box of sugar free jello and a drained can of pinapple bits. It's so good and I hate cottage chesse Grandma says it a textural thing. I suppose but this "stuff" rocks.0

I have cottage cheese every morning! I have it (1/4 cup) with berries usually (black, raspberries or blue) and a small yogurt all mixed up together. Sometimes I use frozen berries too. And Pineapple is yummy too. I sometimes add in 1/3 cup of all bran buds for a crunch. I find protein difficult to eat in the am, so this works for me.
Remember all cottage cheeses are not equal in taste! I like breakstones (USA) and Dairyland in Ontario, Canada.
1/2 C Yougurt
1/3 C Cottage Cheese
1 C Berries -- Blueberries & Raspberries are best anti-oxidants but I buy whatever is in season - Currently Strawberries in FL
1/4 C Applesauce -- good sweetener choice anytime it will fit the recipe
1 T Slivered Almonds -- for needed fat that is clean & healthy
1/2 t each Nutmeg & Cinnamon (or to taste)
Adjust the amounts according to your needs but this recipe = Cal 308 Carb 40 Fat 4 Prot 18
And don'tcha know yer tummy says, "Ohhhh, Thank You !!!"
gyps
ps & if plain, gotta have that fresh-ground black pepper . . . :>)0 -
with pepper and onions!0
-
With mandarin oranges! Either fresh or from a can (there's one brand out there that sells them in juice rather than syrup!) ... so good, so tangy.0
-
Straight up with a little black pepper.0
-
I heat it in the microwave for a little bit, add cut up banana and cinamon. Yummy!0
-
I put it on my salads with salsa as dressing. I also enjoy it with pepper and tomatoes along with big chunks of avocado *drool* I will often do the toast with pepper also. I prefer the savory over the sweet.
My grandpa always had it as a side with spaghetti and mixed it in, so I love that too.0 -
I agree with natural or with black pepper....I also enjoy it with dried cranberries or with diced apples....0
-
It's crazy - but try it with a little French/Western dressing on it and fresh cracked black pepper!0
-
Just a dash of Black Pepper. Why mess with a good thing?0
-
I like it with fruit or on toast with fruit or some jam!0
-
I use mine as a dip for some bite-size round tortilla chips! You can have 24 chips for 140 calories! Yummy! (Or, you can be really bad and use it as a dip for regular or kettle cooked chips!)0
-
I'm not sure how it is personally because I havent had time to try it, but someone posted that its good with tuna.0
-
my favorites are with pineapple, or just with pepper....so good.
just with pepper is my fav!0 -
I like it plain on dry toast. I actually had it for breakfast this morning!0
-
Grapefruit!!0
-
Plain and on top of toast.
I don't get the whole "fruit and cottage cheese" thing. It's more of a savory thing for me.0 -
Lots of ways. But 3 of my favorite ways are:
~ with cut up bananas
~ blueberries, strawberries and raspberry's
~ a little Tabasco sauce
Love it...great source of protein.0 -
I love it on a baked potato with diced tomatoes and chives and a dash of tobasco sauce! Its a great lunch! Filling!0
