Dietary cholesterol is a drop in the bucket with respect to your endogenous cholesterol pool. It's not very relevant when it comes to blood cholesterol levels because of what Is written below. So I would say there is no defined limit.
Of more importance is the distribution of cholesterol your liver makes based on what metabolic pathways are activated by what foods are ingested.
In general, the more carbohydrates (namely grains and sugar) consumed, the more triglycerides, VLDL and small dense LDL particles are produced. HDL is often lower than it should be in this scenario as well. This is basically a recipe for a shortened life span - irrespective of dietary cholesterol intake.
Healthy fats, especially saturated fats, along with much lower grain and sugar consumption and moderate protein intake lead to higher HDL levels and low triglyceride levels. LDL does increase somewhat, but it is the innocuous large particle LDL particles that increase - not the small dense LDL particles responsible for arterial plaque formation. Again, irrespective of dietary cholesterol.
Some dietary cholesterol is certainly needed for many important cell structures and important hormones, for example, testosterone.

According to some recent "google" research I did...
200mg max if you have heart disease
300mg max for everyone else
I don't know where these numbers come from or who came up with this. But, I did see it in a bunch of pages I was looking at. I have also read that dietary cholesterol has little to no effect on your cholesterol numbers, as the previous poster above me states. The most recent article I read agrees with that stance.0 -
As was mentioned in the 2nd post triglycerides are a big dietary issue. I have been told to watch alcohol and sugars (and other carbs but that was the emphasis), but I have health issues that I have to watch my lipids.0

No restriction where I live.0

Watch your carbs -- they increase Triglycerides.
It does not matter what cholesterol you eat. You body makes its own cholesterol.
