Hello MFP Fam,

I find myself chewing gum or eating peppermints to avoid snacking in between meals, but those calories add up! Does anyone one else log those items?

I don't, but some people want to log EVERYTHING so they know exactly what they're eating. If it would make you feel better, log away!

Yep. I log them all. Mini chocolates. Bites of cookies on my way past. Log it all in my case. Totally up to you. Be completely honest with yourself, in my opinion.

peppermints or sugared gum def need to be logged bc they have calories that can really add up. Sugarless gum if you only chew one piece, I dont think it will hurt if you dont log it- i dont always log mine.

but do you log chewing the gum as an exercise?
Mayo Clinic researchers found out that chewing gum does burn calories! Chewing sugarless gum for 12 minutes at 100 chews per minute was found to burn an extra 11 calories in an hour.
