Hi all,
My name is Kelly and I'm a 41yr old wife and mom (4yr old son). My battle with weight has been around since puberty, but after all these years I finally have the right minset.
Instead of wanting it off fast fast fast.... I just want the weight off gradually and consistently. Since moving to our new place in August of last year I have dropped 36lbs - yay!!. Now to get the rest of the 125lbs off, lol. The next 14lbs will be a big deal to me as I've never gotten past a loss of 47lbs without gaining it back.
I've made numerous changes in my life and am very comfortable and happy with them. I faced my million and one fears about being out of place in a gym, and joined one 3 weeks ago. My goal was to get there 3 days a week....maybe 4. Instead I'm making 5-6 along with my best friend who joined a week before me. I also bought a simple food scale and am becoming almost obsessed with weighing my portions... I almost took it to work with me the other day, lol.
With the changes I've made I feel better, and happier.. and how I loved running around the park the other day with my son and not feeling out of breath.. or that I looked horrid.
Other then finally getting myself healthy, I am also doing this to not be that frumpy looking mom that looks as if she's given up on herself... and to set a good example not only for my son... but also my husband. He's a type 1 diabetic and last November went thru a horrible ordeal of having a massive heart attack at 36yrs old. He was never supposed to live thru the first 2 days and is a walking miracle. I want to show him that getting healthy and strong is not a bad thing and you can enjoy the changes in your life.
Everyday is another chance to make great decisions and I'm working on doing just that....and I'm looking forward to like minded people to keep me on the right path...
