P90x + spinning + gym (3x/w)...HOW?

Hey guys,
I've got a little problem...I started to do P90x and it seems to be a great program. So I'd really love to continue on doing it.
But I am still attending a gym with my friends and doing a weight-routine 3x/week. I don't want to miss that, because it's aswell a social happening and means a lot to me. We chat and share ideas so I really don't want to drop the gym.
And at least once a week I am attending a pretty intense spinning class. After which I am completely exhausted and fall into my bed.
How would you reconcile these things?
I found out that it is great for me to do Yoga or Stretching after Spinning.
Plyometrics or Kenpo X could be combined with the GYM workout days sometimes, but the P90x programs for building muscles totally collide with our gym routine
As I think that I need recovery days...what would be your suggestions?
I thought about stretching P90x to not take 90 days, but maybe a bit longer and mix the plan up a little bit.
Just to make sure that weight-workout is only followed by more cardio-related workouts like Kenpo X, Plyometrics or Spining.
What do you think?
Does anybody has experiences on doing more than just plain P90x?
Thanks

I often do hybrids, but I don't ever do a ton of doubles with P90X. You'll just wear out too fast if you put your all into the workouts.
You could take your P90X workout sheets to the gym and do the routines there on your 3 days of weight training at the gym.
Your cardio could be switched out for any other cardio you like. If you like spinning, do that instead of Plyo X or Kenpo X. You can do extra cardio like the Doubles Plan, but you never want to over do it.
I just finished a round of P90X where I did Turbo Kick (the gym version of Turbo Jam or Turbo Fire) instead of Plyo and Kenpo and I sometimes added extra cardio sessions to Yoga or Stretch days just because one of my main goals is to reduce body fat and I needed that extra cardio session.0 -
Actually we are in quite elaborate and tight plan at our gym and we are four people.
I won't be able to do convince them...at least I won't before I'm through with P90x
Exchanging Plyometrics with Spinning is a good advise...I think I'll do that.
But I like all of the exercises done in the P90x videos...even Kenpo X and Plyometrics, because they are different to everything I've done before And I like conquering new fields
"but not overdo it" – absolutely!
That's the main reason for me to look for a solution to combine at in a reasonable way...0 -
I think I'll just try to accomplish as much as possible, but without forcing me to anything.
I'll just work through the P90x plan when there is spare time or if I am able to fit it into my gym-schedule.0 -
This has kind of been my dilema too lately. I am about to start phase 3, and I am also training for a race which really isn't too bad. I run in addition to X about 4 days a week. I would actually like to fit in a spin class on Saturday mornings or even a 15 mile bike ride on my own but I just have no time. If I have to sacrifice anything it is yoga. I love yoga but if I need to get a run in and I am crunched for time yoga has to go. I never miss the weights sessions. I can't stand kenpo so I sub in running. If you can figure it out good luck- maybe just watch that you don't overtrain on the weight days. I love X and how strong it has made me. When I am finished with this round I am going to take a few weeks off and then start round 2!0
