Too Much Protein

I am new to myfitnesspal and so far it is great. I have noticed the last two days I met my calorie goal but was over on my protein goal for the day. Is it a bad thing to have too much protein?

MFP's default setting is only 15% protein, which is actually kind of low. You can reset it by going back to "Goals" and choosing "Custom".
Too much protein can be hard on your kidneys, but if you're working on building lean muscle, 1 gram per pound per day is reasonable.
My settings are 50/25/25 (Carb/Fat/Protein).0 -
Unless your entire diet consists of so much meat/protein that you're lacking the fiber and nutrient element I don't think it's a bad thing to eat over the protein on MFP. Besides it's making your cells stronger! lol0

I agree that the MFP default is extremely low. I changed mine to 40% carbs, 35% protein, and 25% fat. I have been losing body fat as well as seeing some muscular strength and muscle tone. I'm also still over on protein some, but it's never had any ill effects. In fact, I feel better and look better, have tons of energy, and I get all the other nutrients I need. So I say it's all good! :flowerforyou:0
