Does anyone enter general cleaning of the house as exercize? I feel like I'd be cheating by entering it in because wouldn't that fall under normal activity?

I consider it normal activity. To be on the safe side I only include exercise that I do quite purposefully FOR exercise. So walks to the store etc I never put in. I also don't stress if I go 50 or 75 cals over my limit for the same reason.

I've entered it before when I didn't have time to exercise and I specifically cleaned just to burn calories...and to get my place cleaned up. Turn on some music and dance while you're cleaning to burn some more calories! :)

Thanks you have all been really helpful. I had never thought about entering in house cleaning before but my fiance had asked if I could do that. I wasn't really comfortable with the idea especially when I saw how many calories would be burned by it... I would have felt guilty eating the calories

I used to clean houses for a part time job as well....that kind of cleaning I would be comfortable as using for exercize though lol.

    THANKS again everyone!

    Dancing is the best part!

I wouldn't count dusting for 10 minutes but if you spend an hour or two sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, picking up, going up and down the stairs to do all this, cleaning toilets, tubs, and showers...well..that's a serious workout!

Cleaning my own house, I don't count it because it's not like i'm hardcore going crazy doing it.

I clean a friends house every Thursday where I spend 3 hours doing non-stop scrubbing and washing. I do all the floors in a 3000 square foot home with all laminate and scrub 3 bathrooms from top to bottom. It's a workout! I leave there all sweaty and gross.

Heh! I find that I dance doing everything nowadays! Folding laundry, cooking dinner, sometimes I just grab one of the kids and dance with them for no reason at all. It's fun!
