Just wanted to share some things that might encourage others ::
A little about me :: Big "Husky/Fat" almost my entire life.. like even since elementary school.. decided I'd had enough and with 2 kids time to turn it around due to a doc visit where I was approaching my really "Fat" weight (250).. For the last several years 5+ I've had almost nightly indigestion, unable to eat red sauce and anything remotely spicey and definitly nothing past 9pm or else.. my indigestion is so bad that when it occurs I wake up almost every hour and some times throw up.. I was taking malox and pepcid daily.. sometime multiple times a day... I also had very low energy.. got tired often.. HAD to drink lots of coffee just to make it through every day regardless if I got a full nights sleep or not..
I can report that ever since starting here a MFP and hitting the Gym (M - F) I have had 0 problems sleeping and 0 nights where I have had indigestion.. I also notice a huge spike in my energy.. its easier to get up in the morning and I've even been motivated to do my gym workout before work instead of after.. so far I'm 8 lbs down and very excited.. regardless if the scale continues to show progress which I'm sure it will over time.. all the other benefits that I'm seeing and feeling alone are worth the journey.. which is in large part to MFP helping along and the great community that exists here.. everyone elses story also motiviates me..
PS.. I also don't mind going up stairs anymore or taking the trash to the top of my steep driveway -- I can still breath at the end of it
anyway.. just wanted to share

Love this post. Very inspiring. I suffer from reflux and idegestion also. I do not take anything, but I have noticed that since I am logging what I eat and choosing things more wisely, the symptoms have subsided.
Congrats! Keep up the good work!0 -
First off wtg on your weight loss! 8lbs in 2 weeks is terrific. The typical weight loss is 1-2lbs a week, good going! I didnt have the inigestion end of it, but everything else pretty much describes me. I was over weight almost all my life, but had a lot to do with not being taught proper nutritional habits. I was taken out for fast food when I didn't like what was being made for dinner, which was often. As I got older, I became a HUGE coffee addict, not just plain black coffee, I added the flavored coffee mate creamers, or store brand creamers....and I was drinking up to a pot of coffee a day....tons of caffein, when I didn't have the coffee I got terrible migrains! I gave it up in September 2010, at that point I lost 8lbs, just from giving it up, the migrains stopped. I wasnt watching my diet at the time so gained it back! I joined MFP march 1, 2011, have lost 5lbs so far, not alot for almost a month, but I am happy with that, all of us lose weight at a different pace!
I have also noticed, that since march 1st, I am sleeping better, I have more energy than before. I recently went to play laser tag with my sisters in law, and ran around like a mad woman and did not run out of breath, it felt great to know my hard work is paying off. And even if I am losing weight at a slow rate, the other benefits of a healthy life are well worth it!!! and over time I will lose the weight. Best of luck to you!!!0 -
Keep up the awesome work!! I too suffer from indigestion and acid reflux and it is so painful but I have noticed a spike in my energy and just feel so much more confident. I have to lose weight for my cholesterol levels as well. Anyway, very motivational and good luck!!0
