Supplements - does it matter what time you take them?

I used to only take a multi vitamin, fish oil and calcium, but about a month ago I added Glucosamine hoping it will help with knee pain (so I can keep running). But yesterday I added CLA and L-Carnitine.

I usually take everything at night since it's the easiest for me to remember, but that's a whole lot of things to take all at once. And it got me wondering if I should be splitting them up for any reason. Then I wondered for the two new ones CLA and L-Carnitine - does it matter what time of day they are taken - like should they be taken close to a workout or just at the same time as everything else?

Any advise?

Talk to a pharmicist and tell him EXACTLY what you are taking. If you take certain supplements @ the same time or too close together they cancel eachother out. I used to have a book talking about this....but I have no idea where it is.

My doctor told me it's best to take medications about an hour before bed. He said you shouldn't take it RIGHT before bed but they normally should be taken before bed, that way if you have an upset tummy from it, you usually sleep through it.

I split mine up and take them with meals. I think you are supposed to take all supplements with meals. It is my understanding that your body will have a difficult time getting the most out of the supplement if it is taken with a lot of other supplements.
