How do you cook it? With water in the bottom? Without water? cut part facing up or down?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I microwave it, cut in half, in a covered dish, cut side down with a little bit of water. Time depends on how big it is but usually about 10 minutes on high for average size. Scoop out and eat! Usually plain for me or a tiny bit of butter.0

I cut it in half, scrape out seeds, then put it cut down in some water in a microwave casserole dish (I'm lazy, you could use the oven too), poke some holes in it (much like a baked potato) and zap it for a good 10 minutes or so. Then I put some butter/margarine on it and eat it.
Hope that helps.0 -
Cut it in cubes, wrap it in tin foil and bake it.0

I usually bake mine, cut face down with a little bit of water. If you add brown sugar or maple syrup to it, it's DELISH!0

If you want an arm workout, peel, cut in half, remove seeds and cube.0

I cut it in half and put the cut side down in a cake pan with about 1.5 inches of water and cover with tinfoil. I like the "baked" taste!0

HAHA What she said ^....I made some Butternut Squash fries this week and those were so good, basically the same idea, skinned, cut in half, removed seeds, cut like fries baked on a cookie sheet that I sprayed with olive oil Pam and put a teenie bit of water on. 20mins cut side down then flipped, and baked for another 20min at 350....yummmmmyyyy, I even threw some whole green beans on there too, delish!0 -
I peel it, cut into cubes, boil it, mash it and spray with some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. My family loves it that way0

I love butternut squash! I make it into a soup!
Cut in half, de-seed, place cut side down and bake for about an hour or so. Let cool. Saute onions and garlic. Take a carton of chicken broth. Puree. Add in a can of beer and sprinkle with cheese. Yum!
It's also great grilled on the bbq with other veggies.0 -

I microwave my fries for 2 or 3 minutes to bring the starches to the surface and remove some of the moisture. Helps to make the fries a little crisper when they are baked in the oven. I also bake them at around 400F because they are already some what cooked.0
