I am finding that I am always going over my protein intake each day, but I am running 3-4 times a wekk, doing yoga and weight training...anyone else have this issue? I am not eating meat all day either, I just choose things like low fat yogurt and milk...
thanks

Do you have your protein set high enough in your settings? MFP auto loads an amount that is not enough. You should be getting at least 100g and more like around 150g of protein daily.

Going over on Protein isn't terrible for you. Just don't go WAY over.

is there a way to maually change the daily limits? how do you do that? I dont think 45g/day is enough with training? Thanks!!

You need the protein for your extra workouts. Going a littel over isn't a bad thing. Make sure you have enough protein set as your goals because it may seem like you are over when in reality you really aren't.

Go to goals, change goals then choose to change manually :)

100 grams is high...We are told we will only need to eat that much after weight loss surgery to prevent protein malnutrition...Right now we are told to eat 60 grams a day pre-op.

Thanks all, I was able to change it manually and I set it at 60g a day...we will see how that goes. I know too much will just turn to fat but right now I think that amount sounds better than the 45 recommended. :flowerforyou:
  • the ADA, DOC and ACSM recommends that endurance and strength-trained athletes have between 1.2 and 1.7 g/kg (0.5 - 0.8 grams per pound) of protein for the best performance and health.

    For a 140lb female, calorie intake=1800 calories, protein=20%:
1800 x .20 = 360 calories from protein. Since 1 gram of protein = 4 calories, divide protein calories by four:
360/4 = 90 grams of protein per day.

thanks, that sounds more in line with what I need for what I am doing... I manually changed it to 20% or 60 grams a day.
    thanks again!!
