Hello, my name is Shannon and I have been struggling with my weight all my life. I have a very energetic 3 year old and I want to be able to have the energy I need to keep up with her. I have always found food to be a comfort, and I am trying to see food as a way to survive by, and not live by. I am just trying to stay positive about this and keep the motivation in my mind to keep going.

Welcome Shannon! I hear ya, as I have the same issues. I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old. I'm so ready to be healthy again. Good luck on your journey!0

Thank you, and good luck to you as well. I only wish I could get half of the energy my 3 year old has. If I had that I think I would feel alot better about myself. lol I guess one day at a time, One mile at a time.0

Welcome, Shannon. You have found the right place to help you meet your goals. I think you will find many helpful resources and supportive folks. I'm right there with you, using food as comfort. Sometimes we eat out of boredom, though I doubt with an energetic 3 year old there is much boredom. The fact is, food is a necessary thing. Our brains know that intellectually, but now we have to put it into action. Life can be unpredicatable and suddenly we get into bad habits. I believe success on this journey is based on 3 things:
1. Committment
2. Planning and Developing good habits (calorie counting and incorporating exercise)
3. Being accountable
Try incorporating exercise into the chasing of the energetic 3 year old. Also, plan meals including healthy snacks especially for unpredictable times.
Good luck on your journey and feel free to add me if you'd like a supportive friend.0 -
Thank you, and you are completely right. The accountability is completely on me and I don't think I have ever thought of it that way. That is a bit of an eye opener. I can complain about my weight all day long, but only I can do something about it.0
