I ran my first real 5k on Saturday and got a blister on the arch of my foot and decided to continue my running through the following week, because I didn't want to fall off track. Wasn't so bad, but today I word heals to one of my meetings and ugh! Was supposed to do my 2 mile run today and zumba, but it hurts just to walk. Now, I can't work out for today and we'll see how things are for tomorrow. :grumble:

One of the best advices I ever got for when i was running the Boston Marathon was to rub baby shampoo on your feet. I ran all 26.2 and not a single blister!!!! AND why baby shampoo vs regular shampoo you may ask?! Well in case you DO develop a blister, the baby shampoo is made so it doesn't sting :) Good Luck!!!!! Keep on running!!!

seriously, rest your foot. unhealed blisters if aggravated can be BAD news. it will be better in a few days if you clean it, soak in epsom salt, etc. You won't lose your cardio stamina in a few days...it takes more than a week to lose it. you'lll be fine if you rest your foot for a few days rather than having to deal with a nasty infection which could take weeks to heal!

A&D Ointment (or something similarly slimy but not too slippery) also works. Just a light coating on your feet should prevent any big problems.
