Eat something with potassium in it, because you lose it when you sweat. Drink your water too.
Most of all, have fun and good luck!

I always eat--along with the rest of my breakfast-- some peanut butter on bread before a long ride--gets in my protein.

    We'll be cheering for you!

I'm so impressed! I'm running my first 5k next weekend and will be thrilled to do it in 38 minutes! I guess my run is a bit farther 3.35, but still 24 minutes is awesome!

Heck, I'm impressed and awed! If I had entered that race, they'd still be waiting for me to crawl, not walk or run but crawl!, across the finish line!!

In fact, I'd probably be carried across! sick.gif

How did you train for your 5K? I am thinking about registering for one next month. How long and how did you train for it? This weekend I had no problem running 2.5 miles and I think I would be able to handle a 5K. I kinda want to do it just to see how I do. Any advice?

if you can do 2.5 miles, you can definitely do a 5K..its only 3.1 miles.

I do alot of aerobic exercise at the gym, and I am not much of a runner... So all i did was continue my aerobics program, and i ran the 5k once the week before the race just so i would know what to expect.

if i had been trying to compete i probably would have done more to train, but i didnt care much about the time i got, but that i completed it at all...

    Great job Em!

LOL, did you run the whole race with those giant, Liz Taylor sun glasses on?

That's AWESOME! Good form by the way. Head up, armps pumping, eyes focused
    ahead of you (I think).

See the girl beside you? I can tell just from that picture that she is twisting too much and
her head is too high. If you know her, let her know, she's wasting a lot of energy doing that
    stuff.

LOL Banks, i did wear the ridiculous sunglasses the whole way... i love those things. I dont think i even own a normal pair, i have those and some just like them in WHITE! (those are my elton sunglasses LOL)

my boyfriend makes fun of how little my head looks in them all the time LOL

and thanks for the compliments! i really did have a great time.
