What kind of calories?

OK, so I have been "watching" what I eat for a while: I make a general effort to cut snacking, fast food, sweets, etc. Because I felt like this general "eating better" plan wasn't showing results very quickly and made it very easy to slip up, I started using MFP and watching what I eat closely. After only, two days I see that without much effort, I meet the calorie goals set for me but I usually go over the allotted amount of protiens or fats. If I am still within my total calorie allowance, do these overages matter?

protein is set horrendously low on mfp.

i'd recommend setting your percentages to 40/30/30 carbs/fat/protein and try that for 2 weeks or so. you can adjust from there but its generally more conducive to 'real life' eating.
  • I think it's fine. You need a lot of protein in order to maintain muscle mass. And as long as you're getting unsaturated fats, they should be fine. Just watch the saturated and trans.

How do u edit to those settings. I tried but had no luck. BTW quality foods or cals affect how your bodies uses those cals, either by storing them or burning them. Good fats like poly, mono, and sone sat is healthy:)
