Hey Guys,

Just a quick intro. I'm Dan from up here in Northern New Jersey and I've gotta tell ya, I absolutely love this app on my phone!

I've been a personal trainer & conditioning coach for 15 years now and ironically enough, I struggle with weight loss. I've always been a power lifting guy with more concern about the weight on the bar instead of the weight on my belly. I know 100% that it's a nutrition issue but I never really cared that much to change it.

Well, 2 kids later it's time to start thinking more about living a long healthy life for them instead of trying to set new personal records in the squat & deadlift.

My goal is to lose 40 more pounds by September bringing me under 200 - a place I haven't been in 12+ years!

Since I started using the app on my phone (and more recently the website), I've dropped 10 pounds simply by watching the daily allotment of calories and making sure I don't exceed it. Believe it or not, it's really that simple, right? ;-)

Anyway, that's my long-winded intro.

Of course, if you have any fitness/exercise related questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you. Just let me know.

Rock On!
Dan

Welcome and best of luck with your continued weight loss!
  • Dan-- welcome! I hope that you will like it here.

I've only been on the site for a couple of weeks but it has already helped me shed several pounds. I've tried diets that haven't worked plenty, but this forces me to think more about exactly what it is I'm eating and what it's made out of with all the sugar/fat/carb calculations. If you are competitive at all, it's also a good thing, because I find it's like being in a competition with myself.

I'm new to the gym thing and I can't imagine lifting some of those weights-- I'd break myself! Since you already have a path cut out in this general field, it seems like you have a great thing working in your favor. Good luck!
  • I used to be a circuit trainer at Curves and I was struggling with my weight as well so I feel your pain. At least you already know good habits. :)

Best of luck to you and keep up the good work!
