Is caffeine bad for weight loss??

I am a big diet coke drinker. I also drink coffee in the mornings. I've cut my caffeine down to about 2 cups of coffee in the morning and one diet coke per day. But I hear caffeine is detrimental for weight loss and can slow your progress? Anyone else heard this and think it's true? I hope not, because I rely on my caffeinated drinks!

That hasn't been my experience.
I drink coffee & tea daily.0 -
I have heard that statement - but I drink about 24 ozs of coffee daily and have not had a problem on MFP. However, everyone is different. If you feel you are not losing what you should - drop it down to zero or one caffinated beverage a day and see if that helps you.0

Since most diet pills have caffeine in them I would not think it is bad. I think that caffeine is supposed to give you more energy (which is why they suggest taking the pills prior to working out) plus I think it somehow speeds up your metabolism...0
