I came across this device online and wanted to know if anyone has used this device? Seems to good to be true. What are your reviews on it. If you have it would you recommend using it?

I LOVE my fitbit. There is never a time I don't have it on. It's basically a glorified pedometer but I love it!0

I have one, had it just over a week. I LOVE it!
- I learned that just day to day, I burn 2100-2200 calories with no exercise. So that helps me adjust my calorie deficit.
- The sleep function is great, it tells you how many times you woke up, how long to fall asleep, etc.
- I find myself walking more to get my steps up!
- It is accurate, I compared with my omron pedometer.
- It's tiny, I clip it to my bra. It automatically syncs when you're near your computer.
- The online tracking is FREE ( no subscription like the others )
- I can track on my iphone and sync with the website.
I would buy one in a heartbeat.0 -
I was researching them too and decided on the BodyMedia Fit armband instead, it is like combining the fitbit and bodybugg. I love it, records calories steps sleep and activity level, you just enter your calories consumed.0

I also would love to hear from people that own a fitbit. I've had my eye on them before they even started selling them, but I'm not willing to spend $100 on something until I read reviews of real people using it! I think the sleep tracker would be really beneficial for me since I don't think I get enough sleep and feel like I'm always tossing and turning.0

There is a podcast show that did a review/used it for awhile called fat2fitradio.com. They said it was good, better than the bodybugg because it does not require a monthly fee. They said they both worked well to gauge your daily calorie burn from normal activity/gym workouts.
Here is a link to the podcast.

LOVE my fitbit! I have had it since November and I never realized how FEW steps I take in a day on my job. I thought I did more running around from office to office than I really do, which is great because that means I make more of the effort to a) watch my food intake and b) get to the gym to increase my steps and calorie burn! I also like the sleep feature-I wake up lots during the night.
Most of all-I am a data junky-I LOVE track and monitor things, so their website with all those charts are perfect for me!0 -
i love my fitbit! i have had it for almost a year, but will admit that i misplaced it for about 4 months... i haven't been committed to my eating plan (which is why i am here) so i haven't really lost anything because of it, but am definitely more active because of it- so i can only imagine i would have gained without it.
i love it for tracking my sleep, but it also keeps me super motivated to get as many steps in everyday as possible. i have counted out to steps to test it, and it has always been right on. the mobile site is great and easy to use, and the fitbit support team is amazing. also, battery life is great, i charge mine about once every 4 or 5 days.
the biggest selling point for me is the free website. they do offer a premium membership for $50/year, but you can try it for a week to see if it is worth it for you (for me, not so much). there is a personal trainer type of thing that will set work out plans for you or something, which seems pretty cool (haven't tried it yet).
i still track my food here, just because i prefer the layout on this site, but i just enter my daily calorie amount every night over there.
i recommend creating an account over there and poke around a little. you can have a free account without needing to buy the bit!0 -
I had a fitbit and really loved it for the motivation factor. I was fascinated with the data on the website. However, mine quit exactly two weeks after I bought it. I returned it and was a little gun shy to get another so I got a Polar FT4 instead. I love the Polar but it is not nearly so much fun nor so motivating as the fitbit.0

Thanks for all your responses ... I am def. putting the fitbit on my wish list0
