most of the time when you hit a plateau (you spelled it correctly  ) you have to do a bit of experimentation to see what works. Some times you can vary your cals (+300 one day, -100 the next and so on), shake up your work out routine (after about 4-6 weeks your body adapts to any regular workout routine you've been doing), eat some different foods (like if you've been eating a lot of chicken, try some seafood or try some asian vegetables in place of some of your stand-by's). Depending on where you are in your weight loss, it may not take much at all to break a plateau, and sometimes just a week or two of patience will do it. The closer you are to your goal weight the harder you have to work at tricking your body a little. It's also very important if you're in a plateau to make sure that you're feeding your work outs appropriately. A small carbohydrate-rich snack about an hour before, and a protein snack after.

    Hope that helps!
