Nothing wrong with that, walking is still good at burning calories. Try walking uphill more or using a treadmill in a gym which shows the calories burnt. The steeper the incline the more you burn then finish off with a 10 min run and progressively increase the time. Mix your cardio with muscle workouts on light weights or join a "Bodypump" class which tones your muscles, burns fat and increases your flexibility. I have been on myfitnesspal since beginning of Feb. I kept active beforehand but never shed weight so realised that it was what I was eating and not my physical lifestyle. Since using it I have lost 15lbs and feeling good for it too. Good luck with your goals and don't give up0

Hi! I just started "running" this week. I put that in quotes because my goal is a 5k in May, but am no where near ready. I downloaded the "Couch to 5K" app on my phone and it has been great. It is interval training of walking and short bursts of running for 20-25 minutes. The program is set up to do 3 days per week. So even though it may not be the 3 mile run you are setting out for, it could be nice to start small and get to your 3 miles gradually, plus I remember doing interval training when I was on the track team in high school. A friend of mine started "Couch to 5K" 7 weeks ago and is now comfortably running 4 miles0

Motivation is gained through commitment. I have been 2 weeks and not 1# down. Still, I am committed to this, not to MFP but to becoming healthy again and feeling good both physically & about myself. So i keep tweakin' my program & (so far) have kept the faith.
Stay interested. Keep looking for ways to refine your daily food intake. Find new recipes to keep your new-life food choices interesting. Never think on terms of "giving up" foods --> that just reinforces difficulty. Think instead of "leaving behind" the unhealthy for the healthy. Keep exercising. Look for ways to change that up. I know for me, repetition becomes repetitive very quickly. I've got to keep movin' & changin' to hold my interest and I do.
Last, post your needs here. No shame in that. No, "I'm the only one and so I'll feel stupid." It's like bringing some problem to the Navy Chaplain. You ain't gonna tell him nothin' he ain't heard before!!! You will find that the support responses will be amazing.
Stay with it and soon You will be posting success stories!!!
