Hi everyone,
Someone on the C25K forums had this very cool signature. Where it showed their current weight and weight loss goals to go. This is what actually brought me over here to MFP (true story, I like shiny!). I want to just intro myself so I can feel comfortable with this new community that I have been reading posts daily almost (I don't post much because I often just like reading).
I am 23 yrs old, living in NJ working in NYC like millions. I am obese to an uncomfortable level. I am trying my hardest to lose the weight so I can be a better son, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone and anyone I know.
My true reasons for losing the weight is my dad's heart attack. It scared the hell out of me to see him in that condition (was in the Emergency Room with him) and don't want anyone in my family to ever go through that with me. So although it is late (a year since it happened) I have finally realized that my weight is becoming a big issue for my overall happiness.
I had started the C25K program after passing through it by mistake when I google'd how to lose weight with a program. It has worked wonders for me. I have already lost approx 20 pounds since starting and working on losing more.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and just want to say for anyone who posted in the Success Story section, you are an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work as I will try to do the same.

welcome!! My dad also has heart problems--congestive heart failure with a pacemaker/defibrillator--which is the only thing keeping his heart going at times. He has some varied percentages of blockages---and trust me, I know how motivating that is!!
good luck!!!0 -

Thank you. It's forums like these that help me stay focused. I can keep going knowing there are others on here that understand what I am going through. No one in my family is really going through this so it is hard to find someone to discuss weight loss with on a daily basis. Thank you for the warm welcome.0
