SO heres the story.
Lost 20 lbs so easily and then completely stopped for over a month.
I was counting calories and eating back most of my exercise calories, I was drinking diet soda too. That was the problem.
I was working out like a fiend and nothing was happening. The same weight. Over and over when i got on the scale.

5 days ago I stopped drinking soda all together and have been drinking at least 12 cups of water a day. I also have been drinking green tea and taking a green tea supplement to boost my cal burn. I am sticking to my 1200 cal a day goal and only eating some of my exercise calories. Basically, I just got more serious about loosing this weight.

And guess what, all the work this week has paid off. I weighed myself this morning and am down three pounds! This is what I needed to do to jump start my weight loss again! I am almost to my total goal! And so excited!! Hope this helps anyone that is plateauing!

In conclusion, do something different in your lifestyle and it should pump up your weight loss!:drinker: :smooched:

thank you! i'm stuck this month & the scale has gone up a little & then back where it was & i'm just jumping slightly through the month & not dropping anything :o/ i drink diet soda all the time & even use it as a reward once i've gotten in my minimum 8 cups of water. i'm thinking i'll try dropping soda for a week & see if it makes a difference!

Great post! Congrats on busting through that plateau :)

Diet soda does the same thing with me makes me retain water & hold onto weight. I've never tried the green tea supplements, what brand do you use?

I did the exact same thing! I was plateauing for a couple of weeks now and getting very frustrated, so I stopped drinking diet coke and too the weight has come off again! I have also quit drinking any drinks with splenda or sweet n low because that tends to hold onto water, making you gain weight. I switched to stevia, which seems to really help.

Yeah its all the sodium retention, also try and mix up your workout and really stick to your cals. I can't believe so much dropped after such a little change! Good luck and your welcome!! :)

Same here Stevia and Truvia are very good choices!

The supplements that I use are really generic, this may sound silly but Dollar general has them and I can't find them any where else!!! They are green tea liquid gels and its in a little pack called Fat Burning Green Tea. In the vitamin asle.

Awesome post. Thank you for the info. I was at the pharmacy yesterday and was thinking about getting a geen extract tea supplement but did not because I drink about 3 cups of the tea a day. Now I'm going back to get it.

Yeah, I never thought that green tea extract would be so effective!

Something similar happened to me last summer. I was going to Zumba every night but I still wasn't losing weight. Then I read somewhere that the artificial sweetener in zero calorie drinks prevent you from losing weight. So I stop drinking Diet Coke and the pounds just started dropping. :)

great post.. i've been stuck for three weeks now. I quit soda back in december so the only clutch i've been trying to quit is coffee in the morning. I switched to tea recently, but perhaps i will look into that green tea fat burning pill. I drink 100 ounces of water a day too :grumble:

I'm not sure what to think anymore, although the inches are melting off!! i'm fixated on this darn scale number. I will also start running instead of using the elliptical and see if that helps!

What have you found with Stevia in it? I really want to try it but I don't see any products out there. Amazon has a couple mixes available, but they look very heavily colored and the reviews say they're bitter.

That is great news. It also makes me really really glad that I never have been a soda drinker. Back when I was a teenager I did, but I haven't drank sodas in years. They always made my stomach bloated and the carbonation just left me feeling awful. I considered them 'empty' calories and never liked the taste of the diet ones. So it's only water for me, or unsweetened tea.
