Under on Grams of Fat for the Day

MFP recommends 73 grams of fat for me, although I've read when losing weight 30-35 g is enough. Either way, I planned my meals and snacks for the day and am only at 12 g.

What are the negative effects of not eating enough fat? Should I hit McDonald's for some fries?

Any ideas for healthy ways to add fat into my diet for days like this?

I'm way over on sugar due to a lot of fruit in my shakes and snacks. Not sure if that means anything regarding this. Probably not haha.

You need fat, but not the mcdonalds fries kind. The avocado, nuts, fish, olive oil kind. Your body does need fat to function. Your cells are made up of fat. Grab a handful of nuts or eat a tablespoon of peanut butter cook stuff in olive oil, add some avocado for dinner.

fat is a protective layer for you organs. It will also help you to keep a sex drive. Eat nuts or any good fats. Any thing that is a monounsaturated fat. Also called MUFA's There is a book called "flat Belly DIet" that will explain the MUFA's to you and how good they are for you.

    Noooo don't hit McD's!
A few years ago, I made the mistake of severly limiting fat in my diet. I became lethargic, moody, depressed, no sex drive.....yeah, all that good stuff. I had my blood tested and found that I was seriously lacking in Omega 3's. Our bodies NEED good fats!

Some good sources of fats (specifically Omega 3's):
    -salmon
    -avocado
-flax seed (grind it up and add it to smoothies, yogurt, granola, etc.)
-chia seed (use the same way as flax seed)
    - extra virgin olive oil (I have already just taken it by the spoonful (yuck), but you can use it as dressing on salads, etc.)
    - flax oil (take by the spoonful or mix into juice....it has little flavor and goes down easy)
-almonds and other nuts are great sources of healty fats
-natural peanut butter is another way to boost your fat intake

    Good luck! :flowerforyou:

Thanks for the information...great posts. I'm gonna pick up some things on the way home. Still kinda wish someone recommended Mickey D's haha. I'm taking Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega, but they only have 1g fat per capsule. They should definitely help though.

I might OD on peanut butter. Crunchy peanut butter is the truth.
