Success comes at all levels

Hello,
Many times, for me, I don't feel like I am succeeding because my weight loss is slow. I have a birthday coming up, the end of May, and I will be crossing to a new decade. I have a goal weight set in place and am still on track to meet that goal as long as I lose 2 lbs a week. There are some weeks that I only lose 1 lb. and it is at those times I need to think about a pound of butter and realize that I just took that amount of fat off my body.
I went to the Dr. on Wednesday, and they weight you every time you go to the office. I was upset because the Dr. scale was not the same as mine was that morning (I do my weekly weigh-ins on Wed am). I told the nurse I was really upset because the scale was 4 pounds higher than mine was in the morning. She immediately looked at my records and told me what a great job I was doing since I had lost 4 pounds since my last visit in February. That made me take a different look at my weight loss success.
I am losing weight and keeping it off. It might be slow but I am very thankful for the gently reminders I get. I especially love the people who haven't seen you in a while and look at you and say "I love your new hair style" when you lost 20 pounds and your hair is the same style it has been for the past year. I have to keep focusing on those gentle reminders when I don't see great numbers on the scale.
Thanks for listening and if you have any little hints on how to celebrate weight-loss successes please post them here.

I know how you feel - my weight loss has been very slow - 34lbs over about 10 months, but i've just started having the odd person say to me how good i look or 'have you lost weight'?, which is a great feeling. Keep going and remember that the slower it comes off, the more likely it is to stay off :happy:0

This past week I met a personal goal of losing 25 pounds so far this year. I felt like celebrating! Went to my bible study class and told the whole class. It may have seemed kind of silly, but they were very supportive and now they will keep me accountable. The more people I tell, the more they keep me motivated to keep going.
I have heard through co-workers that I have motivated others to exercise because they see me and my commitment. I never thought I would be an inspiration to others, but it makes me feel kind of proud. Yes, I have a long way to go yet...but I am gonna get there!
Celebrate in any way that makes you feel better...
New workout clothes, new book or movie (or workout DVD), special trip to a movie, time with your significant other. Even little perks seem bigger when you are celebrating a victory (big or small.)

You are doing great!! You have to remember that we didnt put off of the extra on in a short period of time so slow and steady progress is ultimately a good thing. You are working on a lifestyle and doing an amazing job. I think the 4 lb difference from home may be that at the Doc office you are typically wearing clothes and shoes. Clothes weight a lot!!
Chin up! You are doing sooooo good and I am impressed. :flowerforyou:0
