Wow, I am just feeling full of positivity right now.

Today, I am comfortably fitting into 33" waist pants. i was 36" in January snuggly. Only 2 or 3 weeks ago I tried these pants and the buttons still had about 1-2 inches to go before they could be buttoned. Man, that is such a huge step for me. Shopping for 36" pants last year was just about the most depressing thing I've had to do in my life. Especially since it wasn't much before that I had to go out and buy 34" pants. My goal is to wear 32" pants and maybe 30". I was 28" waist in high school at my lowest, but I typically was a 30x30 guy until I started gaining weight.

Also, I made my last car payment today. I'm getting married in June, so this will DEFINITELY help. Gosh, what a huge relief, especially with money probably being my single biggest stressor these days. It's been every month for 5 years and now it's finally over! Hopefully the next time I buy a car, it will be in CASH! My car only has 75,000 miles on it, so I'm hoping to drive it for a little while. If I do have to sell it, it will only be because I have a kid on the way and really need a 4 door.

Yesterday, when I played in my bi-weekly basketball game, I had one of my best games ever. I am a wrestler by trade, so basketball is something I've never been terribly good at (I'm only 5'6"!). But, I'm extremely competitive and I've been working on my shooting and ball handling almost every time I go to the gym and it's definitely been paying off. Not only did I have a good day shooting, ball handling, and playing defense on the other team's best player -- I had my best play ever and crossed over this really athletic guy when he went to steal the ball from me and then made a left handed bounce pass to a wide open guy for a basket between two defenders. It was truly a "highlight" moment for pickup basketball, so it had me glowing all day long. For me, basketball is a lot like golf. It's ridiculously hard and frustrating, but you play for those few moments when you do something good. Hahaha.
