Cautiously Optimistic

Ok - I think it's finally happening. The weight is starting to come off again and I officially need to buy new pants.
When I was younger I could just cut out soda and chips and weight would fall right off. When I went vegan I lost 40 pounds in a few months without even trying. I maintained my weight at about 125 for years, eating anything I wanted (vegan).
I put on almost 40 pounds just last year when I returned to working at a desk. I assumed it would be just as easy as when I was younger to drop weight easily - especially since I had resumed eating TONS of dairy. I thought just kicking dairy again would do the trick. I was wrong.
So I started exercising. I lost a few pounds but have been stuck in the 160s for a long time. This has been really frustrating for me because I eat pretty clean: lots of organic and average close to 50 grams of fiber a day.
I bought a HRM and discovered that I wasn't burning nearly as many calories as I thought. So I am working out harder.
I decided to give Intermittant Fasting a shot because I have no trouble fasting (especially just from one dinner to the next). Now that I have done my two days this week, I think I have stumbled upon something that works for me.
I lost 2.6 pounds this week and last night I slept all the way through the night. I am a chronic insomniac, so that is a HUGE accomplishment!
So anyway, I am cautiously optimistic that I'll be out of the 160s soon and that much closer to the 130s again

Good job! It looks like your very dedicated! So you'll be at your goal weight in no time! =D
ps. It's true what they say about desk jobs, you gain a lot of weight the first year....=/0 -
Be optimistic my friend. Not just for your weight loss journey, yes journey not destination, but for your life changes. First, you are getting married to an amazing man. Even not knowing him I know that he is if he snagged you. Secondly, you are being the best role model for your daughter that she could possibly ask for. You are healthier, stronger (inside and out) and becoming the momma and wife that you want your daughter to see. Weight loss sucks. It sucks that we have to think about what we eat and how much our burn is. That is our reality. We are on the verge of 40, omg, and things are changing. It's gonna come off differently than it has in the past. It's still gonna come off. You might not be 130 by d-day, BUT, I can guarantee you will look AMAZING, you will be HAPPY and most importantly you will be GRATEFUL. Grateful for your life, for your daughter, for Scott. I am glad I am a part of this weight loss journey. I know, absolutely know, that you will succeed. The end result might be different but nonetheless you will succeed. Seriously, you already have. Much love to my Willits girl.0
