As I am reading posts. I have seen a lot of replies that simply say "bump". This may be a stupid qustion, but what does "bump" mean?

By posting "bump" you bump the topic up higher so that more people will answer it.
Some people also just type in bump so it is saved in their topics, so they can go back to it later.0 -
it forces the topic back into the "recent posts" section, as well as adds it to their list of "my topics"0

Its not a stupid question!
When a post is replied to, it moves to the top of the list as an active discussion. So people just add "bump" as a reply in order to push the message thread back to the top of the page.0 -

Thanks for asking. I was wondering the same. I still don't get it:)0

it just means that someone else would like to know the same answer and by making the responce any response it will save it on your home page so you can go back to read the new answers later when they have had a chance to post more.
IT is like saying me too or I want to know also.0 -
