Obese & still healthy... how is this possible?

Since I started losing weight, I've seen my doctor every 25lbs of net weight loss. I was 325lbs when I started and either at risk or dealing with every weight related health concern you can name (high blood pressure, cholesterol, blah blah blah).
I'm 242.5lbs as of my last weigh in on Monday, still considered obese by nearly 20lbs in BMI terms. However, when I saw my doctor and got TWO body fat tests (at my request) by the staff dietician & nutrionist, she came back with 17.89% on the hydrostatic and 16.5% with the caliper. According to her and everything I googled this afternoon, I'm actually healthy (other than a positive stool test that I'm getting a colonoscopy for).
I refused to believe it, so we measured everything on my body (hips, waist, chest, etc.) and everything other than my BMI said I was relatively healthy for my height (6 feet even). She said I can definitely drop more weight (she wants my waist and hips to be less than 36 inches), but if I want to continue my current rate of descent, I need to concentrate a little more on the training aspect so I get my body fat % down instead of net weight loss.
I'm very confused, so I'm asking if anyone else who has been seeing a doctor through this journey has heard anything similar.
