Hi guys!

New to myfitnesspal as of tonight - I've tried a few different calorie/exercise tracking websites, but I keep hearing people talk about how this one works really well. So far I like what I see, and the community seems much more active than the others I've seen, and a whooole lot less complicated.

Anyways, a little about me. My name is Kelsey, and I live in Victoria, BC. I'm 5'1, and I'm a recovering couch-potato addict. I love to bake and cook as both a hobby and a career - I'm starting culinary school on April 18th! I'd like to lose 10 pounds - I'd really like to lose 25 pounds, but I think that'll be a lifelong process of me getting very fit, rather then just eating less. Who knows though - I've really never had a lot of success when it comes to seeing results from eating better/working out. I either try too many things at once to see what's really working, or I have something out of my control controlling my weight loss.

At the moment, I'm on prednisone, a steroid medication that causing a lot of water retention and increased appetite - It's my 2nd time on the drug - the last time I gained about 15 pounds, and only lost 2 or 3 when I went off of it. This time I've gained 10 pounds while working out as much as possible. In a little under 2 weeks I'll be off of it, and then I'm ready to go balls to the walls with my calorie counting and exercise to really start taking back some control of my weight.

I'm very inspired by planning and discussion - All I need for motivation is to read some success stories, and I'm ready to hop onto a treadmill (well... maybe not - I detest pure cardio!). In theory, of course. I look forward to meeting you all, making some friends, inspiring and being inspired by others on this website.

Welcome to MFP! You've come to the right place! The tools on here are easy to use and the social networking is awesome! Everyone is so great because we're all in the same boat with the same destination in mind. I have quite a bit more weight to lose than you do, but would love to support you on your journey! Feel free to add me as a friend! Good luck!
