Very small NSV

I was up to about 275 pounds at my peak, and I joined MFP around 270. I'm now 240, and I can "safely" climb up my attic ladder rated to 250 pounds carrying my clothes and a tool or two.
I'm a mechanical engineer, and I know there's a fairly large safety factor built into something like this, but why chance it?
