Alien-tiny wrist: HRM possible?

After all the pro-hrm posts here I've decided to get one, but I have a huge concern: I have really skinny wrists. I have a very hard time finding bracelets and watches because most of the time, not only do they not fit, but they can't even be altered small enough to accommodate me because the top arch of the band is so wide (I hope that makes sense). So here's the big question for those of you who own a HRM-- how big is the watch part and do you think it will be possible for me to get an accurate reading? Just for reference, my wrist is 5.5" (14cm) in circumference.

My Polar FT4 has holes in the wrist strap all the way round so I'm it would fit you. Plus if the HRM has a chest strap (mine does), you don't have to wear it on your wrist as it picks up the data from the strap. You could put it in a pocket ......

My recommendation would be to get a HRM with a chest strap. This will save you the trouble from worrying about the size of the watch and I believe the chest strap HRM gives the best readings. My watch for me is just for collecting the data and knowing how well I am doing. The chest strap is the actual reader.

    I hope this helps!

Yep, what they said /\ You can even get some with a cycle mount for the watch!
  • Yay, thank you everyone!! I didn't realize that I don't have to actually wear the watch--I thought it was part of the measurement tool. I will move forward with the purchase!

I have tiny wrist...a bit bigger than yours and I still have room to make mine smaller as a watch too. Good luck!
