i personally like Ryka's or New Balance. find a shoe that fits your foot, and is comfortable. sometimes cheapest isn't always the best.0

If you can, go somewhere where they will PROPERLY fit you (like a specialty running store). It is more expensive but totally worth it!!0

Depends on what kind of runner you are... do you need cushion or stability... do you overpronate or are you neutral... high arches etc. I need stability with control for mild overpronation and have high arches. I just got the Nike LunarGlide 2's and I LOVE them. Try Nike.com and take their quiz, or look some up at fitnessmag.com0

Asics are great for running, very comfortable and light weight.0

Agreed. I cringe at spending a ton on anything cause I'm a single mom. BUT, I do have a pair of Ryka's and I can tell you they are very much worth it. Run great and are very comfy for me.0 -
go get fitted for running shoes.
this is SOOOOOOO important to avoid injury down the line. Just them them your price point and it wont be expensive.
seriously, go to a running shoe store and get fitted. (even if you find "your" shoe and buy them online elsewhere for cheaper)0 -
I have heard that KSwiss Tubes are great. They are $75, but if you have a ****'s Sporting Goods store locally, they're on sale for $65 for the rest of today I would have gotten some for that price, but I have a new pair of New Balance which I do like.0

So totally agree and take your current pair of sneaks with you so they can see any wear patterns for pronation or over pronation0 -

Go to a runner's store and have them evaluate your gait. Once I found out I needed light stability shoes, I checked with Runners World website from March 2010 and got last year's recommended shoes-discounted because the new line just came out in March. I got them for pretty inexpensively from Holabird.com. Good Luck!:flowerforyou:0

Yes, get fitted. And, don't be surprised if in 6months to a year the shoes that work for you now don't work anymore. You're gait will change as you get stronger and lose weight. I made the mistake of not going back to the store when I started to hurt and ended up with hip, knee and ankle problems. But, the running store worked with me and sent me home with 3 different pairs until we found the one that allowed everything to heal, at no additional cost even though I ran in them, and one pair I used for over 50 miles before they took them back! Once you have shoes that work for you and your body is happy with, then you can buy replacements on-line cheap.0

yup, i agree. I lost 30 lbs and my stride changed COMPLETELY...so funny I feel like i run the same but i dont and i was wondering why i was having foot pains...
getting your shoes fitted is SOOOOOO important.
Let us know what you end up with (i wear mizunos)0 -
I am a high school runner, cross country, indoor track, outdoor track
I preferred Saucony
why because they're very light and at the same time comfortable while running. originally the normal ones aren't that great, i purchased the moderate running shoes. I really love the new Omni series they have, latest one is Omni 9. I have Progrid Omni 6 and they're just fabulous shoes, put more than 500 miles of running on them.
I did try Asics, Brooks, Muzino, Nike, New Balance as well
New Balance has no comfort, it has no cushion. Nike is just average, bit of both but slightly heavy.
Brooks, Asics and Muzinos are slightly heavy I think Muzino's have more cushion but with more weight which is not necessary.
Asics are better when you run on track but away from track they can be hard sometimes, good shoes.
Same with Brooks, heavy and should have smaller size because bigger the shoe more they will interfere with leg, meaning you can sometimes kick your other leg by accident.
Saucony is the lightest
Saucony and Asics are more comfortable
Muzino and Brooks are good shoes but too heavy
New Balance and Nike are ok but wouldn't buy those
These are just my opinion, you should go to TrySports in your city. They will video tape you while running and recommend you the best shoes for your feet which will definitely satisfy your leg, back etc.0 -
K swiss tubes.
best running shoes ever. I feel like im running on air0 -
I love my Asics gel Kayanos, but cheap they are not.0
