switched diets....

So January 6th 2011, i started atkins. It started out okay, i lost about a half a pound a week. towards this past week i've realized atkins is just too boring and im not losing enough weight. So this past thursday i got weighed (and i was 182.7, a pound up from the week before) so i switched diets. Im not eating more than 1000 calories a day. I got weighed this morning and i was 179.3! im definatley know what diet im sticking to now !!!!!!!!!!!! :drinker:

    Waiting for the flaming to begin (b/c <1200 cals = starvation, blah, blah blah)... lets see if those new moderators start working out, lol!

    that is great !!!!! but really to lose in a healthy way you need to take in at least 1200 calories a day!! Not to be a downer but that is just from what i've read. good luck!!!

    Of course you are losing, you are eating less than 1000 calories a day, you are starving yourself. That will only work for so long and then your body will start holding onto everything and you will either gain or not lose anymore. You should never go below 1200 calories/day, it's what your body needs just to sustain life! Not to mention, the weight that you do lose by starving, you will gain back and then some, as soon as you start eating normal again. Don't think of this as a diet, think of it as a lifestyle change. Eat what you want, exercise, and stay within your calorie goal, NOT under. It's that easy. You don't need to starve! There's some tough love for ya! :laugh:

    Hi, while I am super excited that you are losing weight, it is very unhealthy to eat less than 1200 calories a day! You can lose muscle weight and actually start putting your body into starvation. When this happens your organs begin to slowly shut down. It is very dangerous. You should at least eat 1200. Plus if and when you do start eating more again your body will hold on to it all since you were previously starving it.

    Please be careful. Research the calorie intake thing.....it is unhealthy.....
