Just a quick intro that will be not so quick haha.. My name is Amanda. I am 23 years old and to be just flat out I never used to be this fat! haha I'm bloggin about my experiences, feelings, expectations, motivation, ect. When I was a senior in high school I decided to make a lifestyle change and get healthy. I didn't need to lose a ton of weight, I just wanted to be healthy. When I got of school and got a good job and made fairly good money I started to lose more weight as I could buy healthier foods then my parents kept in the house. I would buy veggie burgers and whole grain everything.
I was at a great weight I was down to my lightest weight when me and my husband found out I was pregnant and this is where weight in my life created a whole new circumstance. I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. Those of you (most of you) who haven't heard of this basically its like having a horrible stomach flu or food poisening lasting 9 months (NO NOT MORNING SICKNESS.) I couldn't keep anything down. No water, heck if i didn't dry heave and vomit bile i was happy. I was throwing up 35-60 times a day I spent a lot of time hooked up to an iv at the hospital. Since this disease is so rare my Dr did what he could, but it wasn't helping. I was hospitalized for days with iv's. Eventually i was down to my lowest weight ever (at my height) and you could see my ribs and a tiny belly at 6 months pregnant. The rule was EAT anything you can keep down eat. I ended up with a PICC line feeding me through my veins at 7 months by 8 months i was induced due to liver failure starting....
I looked and felt awful for a year after having my son. (he was healthy though! thank goodness!) Then I found out i was pregnant again i august (thanks a lot mirena! haha) this time I knew what worked, what didn't I was on a feeding tube at week 6 and was dreading the months to come. BUT I had an angel of a doctor this time. She had hyperemesis with her pregnancy so I knew she knew this was real. I got on meds every 3 hours and was able to get fluids as needed with anti-nausea meds that helped a lot. And I also was able to do a steroid treatment that did wonders for me the time before.. and I ate.. and ate... and ate.. and ate. I weighed over 115 pounds more then my lowest weight when I delivered. The problem with this is was the time I ate the most was at night becuase its when I could keep food down. I'd take my meds every three hours and i'd eat mini candy bars and fall right back to sleep because if i was sleeping GENERALLY i wouldn't get sick.
ANYWAYS thats how I got to this point. I need to change habits that were formed and get back to my old healthy eating. My husband and I have never had our big wedding I bought my dress after I had our first son because we always planned on throwing a big party and renewing our vows on year 5. I really would like to fit in it and I honestly think its possible!
Hope I didn't bore any of you and scare you off with my life story there haha
